COVID-19 Protcols

MCPC Management

Updated: Aug 8, 2020

In response to the recent concerns regarding Covid-19, or the “Corona Virus”, that is creating major concern as of late we feel is it important to clarify our protocols for prevention, identification, and possible containment of this virus and other possible pathogens.

Modern Commercial Pest Control Inc. is a concerned employer that is in the business of Vector Control to aide our customers in risk reduction related to pest born illnesses. In many ways this experience prepares us for the conditions we see now with the concerns about the human to human transfer of this virus. The following information is designed to be both a reminder of current protective measures in place and an explanation of additional protections we are implementing in response to this specific threat.

Current Protective Procedures

The procedures that we train on to prevent spreading pest borne or other pathogens in a food processing environment serves as a good basis for the control and prevention methods now recommended in concerns with this virus. We feel is in important to review and follow the following:

1. Wash hands properly and frequently. Use hot water, soap and agitate for 20 seconds, rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

2. Avoid unnecessary contact with food, food surfaces or employee workstations. The same procedures used to prevent vector borne pathogens will be useful at protecting you and others from this virus

3. Do not come to work sick. If you are experiencing any health-related symptoms, whether possibly illness related, physical or mental these conditions should be immediately communicated to your supervisor before reporting to work, or immediately upon detection.

4. Be aware and alert. Keep an eye on your coworkers, others in your work area and always report any conditions of concern relating to your health or the health of others.

Specific Covid-19 Containment Procedures

1. Avoid physical person to person contact and limit close contact when possible. Consider using verbal greetings over handshakes, hugs or other contact.

2. Report any contact with individuals or visits to locations known to possibly be associated with this or any unknown illness. It may seem like nothing to you, but all information can be useful in source tracking and hazard reporting.

3. Report any travel out of the country or to areas known to have Corona Virus cases. Many areas are now labeled as areas of concern. Do not be afraid to ask or report. This information is only to be used to help protect you and others from possible harm.

4. Prepare for routine health testing, questioning, or additional PPE requirements. These are serious matters and to be handled professionally and honestly. Be patient and report any facility specific requests or delays to your supervisor.

5. When in doubt, contact a health professional and get tested. There are to be no repercussions for reasonable health related concerns. It is our goal to provide a safe workplace for our employees, customers and others around us.

Modern Commercial Pest Control Inc. is committed to taking all reasonable and necessary steps to help prevent or contain the spread or effect of this virus or any other health related concerns. We will continue to update these procedures, as needed, as more information becomes available.

Feel free to call us with your questions, we will do our best to respond promptly to get you answers or refer you to professionals who can.
